The ACME Thunderer is one of the most used referees whistles in the sporting world - among others - the NHL, NBA and UEFA.Made of solid brass and with a free-moving 'pea', it produces a sound that can be heard above the strongest winds or background noise. Thus, it often used on beaches (Baywatch), by rescue teams and as an outdoor communication medium.
