2 Person trekking tent
-The ultimate 2-person tent- is absolutely fitting to describe the Forum 4 2. Numerous trekking and outdoor experts helped develop this tent, sharing their experiences and ideas for the design. The result is a tent for two people suitable for the most diverse environments. The geodesic pole construction crosses four times, which brings added stability against strong winds. The tent is completely freestanding, and both of the big vestibules do not need to be anchored either. One special feature are the four entrances on the fly, so that one entrance can always be set up out of the wind. Both of the inner tent entrances have access to their own entrance areas and vestibules. In addition, the opposing entrances provide for optimal ventilation of the tent. The vents on both the fly and inner tent can also be closed, and the large mosquito-netting doors on the inner tent can be completely covered to prevent unwanted drafts. Four inner tent pockets and a gear loft in the inner tent create order. The details make this tent unique: for instance, one of the zipper bases is connected with a string to the bottom edge of the corresponding door of the fly. When the zipper is opened, the material of the door also goes up, keeping it out of the dirt.

The Forum 4 2 was developed in the largest German-language outdoor Internet forum.
The Forum 4 2 is a geodesic tent with three arched poles. The poles cross four times, which brings added stability and makes it limitedly usable in the winter.
Four entrances on the fly
The four doors on the vestibules make it possible to always have one door available that is protected from the elements
The tent has four closable ventilation flaps. Two of the four doors on the fly have four zippers sliders each, to allow them to be used for ventilation as well.
Extra-long sleeping area
The steep walls at the head and foot of the tent and its generous design allow for a comfortable sleeping area of 230 cm.
Two ways to set up the tent
The Forum 4 2 can be set up in one step, as the pole channels are on the outside of the fly and the inner tent is already hung inside. The fly can also be set up without the inner tent, offering lightweight shelter for three people. The Development of the "Forum 4 2"
"Customer orientation" is a key term in modern product design. In February 2006, Wechsel pioneered a new pathway in product design. In close cooperation with the website outdoorseiten.net, we created a new tent 100% according to user specifications. The task we gave outdoorseiten.net, one of the largest German-language Internet forums for outdoor sport and travel, was to design the optimal tent on their own. Thus, the project forum was created on outdoorseiten.net called "We design our own tent", which rapidly gained wide interest from the forum users. In the various threads, the characteristics of the tent were to be decided on a democratic basis. Every single detail was voted upon: Tunnel or dome tent, lengthwise or diagonal sleeping arrangements, 1, 2, 3, or more persons tent, how long, how high, how many vestibules, how many entrances, three- or four-season tent, which materials, etc. After about 10 months, most of the product details had been discussed and voted upon in the forum. Now it was time for us to implement the tent according to these specifications in a practical manner. The first tent samples were thus developed according to the wishes of the forum users. A few modifications were primarily related to the feasibility of mass production. Further details were changed before the tent was ready for its first official presentation at the "Outdoor" trade fair in Friedrichshafen in July 2007. The great enthusiasm at the fair was the starting shot for the production of a few quasi-serial test runs of the tents. These tents were designed to be used for through numerous practical tests that have been conducted since November 2007 to optimise the usability. The results of these tests were then considered for the serial production.
